Popular Post OscarHoop
What a feeling! I have my contract and begin training in October. I received my conditional offer a few weeks back but didn’t want to post in here until it was confirmed! Waking up to that email was something else, I have made it through a couple of recruitment campaigns before only to receive a dreaded ‘we regret to inform you that on this occasion’ email. They are a real killer and to read one saying I have been successful was incredible. It has taken me over three years to get in and joining this forum was the game changer. There’s so much good advice in here and some very helpful members. Thank you to everyone who has passed on advice to me in discussions or in private messages. I’ve tried to do the same and will stay active to offer advice/encouragement where I can. I actually left the forum briefly after having a small tantrum. I waited six weeks for a decision on getting in and was finally told I’d narrowly missed out. I vowed that it was my last attempt and I’m done with trying. That lasted about a week and I was back when my local service opened up! There is a picture I’ve seen of an iceberg floating in some water, success is written the small section above the water line and on the huge underwater section is written words like effort, failure, stress etc You’ve probably seen it. It is so true and relevant, people see success but not everything it takes to get there. The investment in study material and hours of revision to not only get better at the ability tests but to be in the very top percentage of passes, the early morning runs, the hours and puddles of sweat in the gym and on the mats, studying, practising and dreading the interviews, presentations and group discussions, the motorway miles, the dry cleaner visits, the hotel rooms, the worry, doubts and fear, the anxious waiting for results obsessively refreshing emails! The list is endless of what you go through. But when you read the email saying you’ve passed, its all worth it. For those in the process now, keep working hard. Take the failures as a sign that you’re on the right path and never give up (well, maybe briefly!) Good luck to everyone, I’m off for a another run 👊🏻 13 Link to comment

TandA
Congratulations. It is well deserved. Giving up is permanent, you just took a few moments to regroup and reassess. That simply made you stronger! 1 Link to comment
