Messyshaw Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 I note that the University of York attempted to bring in a covid fire evacuation strategy that required healthy but self isolating students to wait and let those who were not isolating evacuate first!!! It is possible to have a phased evacuation procedure, but only in buildings designed or altered to allow a delayed evacuation. Halls of residence are almost exclusively built for simultaneous evacuation and many will have a single staircase (although I don't know about York) These snowflake students grumbled about being left behind to die, so the Uni have changed their mind - with a bit of prodding by North Yorks F&RS no doubt!! I wonder if the bright spark who came uo with this panicked and flawed process has still got a job????
Rory-495 Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Words actually fail me. We have started doing more fire safety training in LFB at low level and even I could have done a better job than that!

Matt Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 North Yorkshire got involved with this, not sure on the outcome but not the first Uni, can't remember who the other one was but the FBU kicked off with them.
