Military Reserves

Just wondering if anyone is/ if it’s allowed to be part of army/Raf/navy reserves whilst being operational?

Depends on the brigade you are joining. LFB made me leave when I joined (incredibly hard thing to do) and if you want to join you have to go into a waiting list as they only allow x% of staff to be reserves.

Funnily enough, just after I joined they changed the policy to state you can stay in when you join but not be deployable until you get on the reserves list! Incredibly frustrating!!

Other brigades are far more accommodating from what I hear

I know of at least two within GMFRS. I suspect there will be more.

Hi @BurtMacklin do you know if he done his training for RMR whilst in at station or joined as a RMR reservist.

I would love to do it but the RMR has a massive commitment and I can’t see how it’s possible with how much leave the brigade allow you to have

I think he was doing it before he joined the brigade, I’m afraid I don’t know much more about it.
