Jakob
I am just about to start my basic training and I’m looking to get ahead of the game! Can you give me any advice on what I should practice and what topics I should study beforehand to give me an edge and impress my trainer...? Link to comment

Rory-495
Study anything supplied to you by the brigade. If nothing has been just prepare physically and enter with an open mind. Don't try and learn stuff they haven't prescribed beforehand. And yeah... learn to iron and polish with ease. That will give you an edge on roll call 1 Link to comment
Sam
Hey, where’s your basic training being held? I’m also due to start!:) I would recommend trying to practice some of the knots you’ll have to learn lol Youtube has endless videos of good information too, from fires, hazards, decontamination, BA kits, drill etc etc. Link to comment
Jamie W
Try not to do too much learning in advance other than knots and the obvious personal presentation and fitness. Some of the drills can be a tad gruelling 1 Link to comment
