Popular Post Hibs10 Posted August 17, 2019 Popular Post Posted August 17, 2019 So, after years and years trying to get in and applying so many times for various brigades I’ve finally realised my dream. After set backs, rejections and medical issues Herts FRS took me on. I am and will continue to work as hard as needed to make it work. Words could honestly not describe the feeling of success.... I’ve been quiet on here as of late as I’m on week 12 of training and it’s been probably the toughest 12 weeks of my life. That being said probably the most enjoyable 12 weeks too. I’d like to take this opportunity whether members are still active or not, to thank each and everyone of you who read my moans, questions and answered me with advice or told me how it is. It kept me positive. My daily addiction to log in to this site helped so much. Thank you Ill do my upmost moving forward to help where I can on here myself. Please anyone reading this who’s still trying to get in, take my advice and keep trying. As I did and now looking forward to the rest of my career! 11 5
Carl Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Well done @Hibs10, really pleased for you. Its also pleasing to see that many members we have had on here for years and have really got stuck in and reached that final hurdle, you obviously being one of them. As I am sure you have seen me type before, I do hope you stay around and help where you can, and more so, start to post and increase the topics within the operational sections. Glad the course is tough, its meant to be Enjoy it and you will realise why once you get on station. Congratulations 3
Hibs10 Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Thanks @Luminoki and @Carl. I will certainly do that Carl. I’ve steered clear of operational topics until now as although I’ve always been keen to become a firefighter, talking about operational issues was something I could not relate to. Now I look forward to airing any views in this extended family I’ve joined👍🏻 2
