Thea_Eftec
Hi all PFOA is a substance that may cause cancer, is toxic to the liver and may cause hormonal changes. I was wondering if anyone knows whether fire and rescue services in the UK still use firefighting foams that may contain PFOA or related substances. Thanks, Thea Link to comment

Messyshaw
PFOA foam was used widely at Buncefield and then the run off was tankered to a storage site between Rickmansworth and Harefield. It was kept in huge open tanks, with the fumes allegedly affecting the health of kids in a local school. Meanwhile the owner of the Buncefield site HOST argued with others who was going to pay for it to be cleaned and disposed of I hope this foam isn't in use now, but I bet there's tonnes still stored away in dark corners Link to comment
