No it’s ‘Opting Out’ of the Working Time Regualtions which as a default are given to employees in the EU to protect them from being forced to work 48 hours per week. If an individual wishes to ‘opt out’ there is a mechanism for this (even a template contained within the WTR) and its for everyone in the EU, not a UK only option. Link to comment
Tibbu Posted April 5, 2018 Share Posted April 5, 2018 We have wholetime who do retained in the same county,(dual contract) , and Wholetime in one brigade doing retained cover in other brigades, depending where they live. Both have there merits, and the working time directive don't really stop people doing the job as far as I know. Link to comment
IDrinkBeer Posted April 7, 2018 Share Posted April 7, 2018 N ireland have wholetime / retained fire fighters , also the officer to firefighter ratio is not 1/500 but as pee any other brigade though it feels like 1/1. Link to comment
